|Establish over two years a Kangaroo Mother Care program (KMC), a simple means to maintain physical temperature of newborn children with small weight, 1300g to 2500g and more than 32 weeks of gestation, to decrease neonatal mortality.
The KMC is relatively cheap and adapted to the needs for an urban district hospital with limited resources such as the hospital of Bonassama in Cameroon. Besides regulating the temperature, this method established in many developing countries favours feeding, protects from infections and allows a reduction of hospitalisation time.
